Collection of personal information
As a visitor to this Site, you can engage in many activities without providing any personal information. In connection with other activities, such as requesting a CoreBlox demonstration, CoreBlox may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, CoreBlox may ask that you provide us personal information, such as your first and last name, mailing address (including ZIP code), e-mail address, employer, job title and department, telephone and facsimile numbers, and other personal information. When registering for the CoreBlox service on the Site, you may be asked to provide a login ID and password which is stored for account validation purposes. Depending upon the activity, some of the information that we ask you to provide is identified as mandatory and some as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory data with respect to a particular activity, you will not be able to engage in that activity.
When you use the Site, CoreBlox or third parties authorized by CoreBlox may also collect certain technical and routing information about your computer to facilitate your use of the Site and its services. For example, we may log environmental variables, such as browser type, operating system, and the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. We use these environmental variables to facilitate and track your use of the Site and its services. CoreBlox also uses such environmental variables to measure traffic patterns on the Site. Without expressly informing you in each particular circumstance, we do not match such information with any of your personal information.
When you submit personal information to CoreBlox through the Site, you understand and agree that this information may be transferred across national boundaries and may be stored and processed in any of the countries in which CoreBlox maintains offices including, without limitation, the United States.
In order to reduce errors in our database, authenticate our users, and prevent abuse of our system, we may on occasion supplement the personal information you submit to us with information from third-party sources. For example, we may supplement your Registration Information with address information provided by the U.S. Postal Service to qualify your information and prevent errors in our database. As permissible, we may also supplement the information you provide to us with demographic and other information (such as age or interest in photography) stored in third-party databases in order to make it more likely that marketing communications we send will be of interest to you.
How your personal information is used
CoreBlox collects your information in order to record and support your usage of the CoreBlox system. If you subscribe to a service, the information is used to register you for access to the system and for technical support or other benefits that may be made available to registered users. Your personal information is also used to track customer preferences and keep you informed about product upgrades or other account related activities. For example, CoreBlox uses notifications to alert users to case updates and modifications and other case related information.
For license verification purposes, you acknowledge that the Product may electronically transmit to us summary data relating to use of the Product including, but not limited to, the number of queries, number of agent seats, number of channel partners and total document storage utilization. Such transmittals will be used for the purposes of license verification and for the preparation of usage statistics reports. In addition, we may provide aggregate information about Product usage and traffic patterns to third parties to comply with various reporting obligations and for business or marketing purposes. We will use reasonable commercial efforts to keep confidential the material you provide for use with the Product that is not specified by you to be available to the public (the “Customer Information”). We may provide the Customer Information to third parties that perform operation and development services for us for technical purposes, subject to confidentiality agreements between us and such third parties, or as required by law. In addition, this confidentiality obligation shall not limit our right to provide aggregate information about Product usage and traffic patterns to third parties as described above nor shall it restrict us from transferring the Customer Information in connection with the sale of a business or substantially all of our assets as described below. As part of operations, we may sell, transfer or merge particular businesses, newsletters and/or other assets to a third party. As part of such a transaction, personal and business information you have provided to us and your Product usage information may be given to a third party, except that we shall not sell the Customer Information to a third party unless it is part of a business that is being sold. Also, if we are acquired, or substantially all of our assets are acquired, such information (including the Customer Information) will of course be one of the transferred assets.
Upon request by you in connection with the termination of this Agreement, we will discard all of your Customer Information, provided we shall not be required to destroy or alter any computer archival and backup tapes or archival and backup files, but such archival and backup materials shall be kept confidential in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
Notwithstanding the above, we may access, preserve, and disclose your account information and Content if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process; (b) enforce the this Agreement; (c) respond to claims that any Content violates the rights of third-parties; (d) respond to your requests for customer service; or (e) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of any person.
Your choices with respect to personal information
There are other instances in which CoreBlox may divulge your personal information, such as where required by law, regulation, or litigation. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that such disclosure should be made for reasons of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance.
Protection of your personal information
The personal information that you provide in connection with registering yourself as a user of CoreBlox is classified as Registration Information. Registration Information is protected in several ways. Access by you to your Registration Information is available through a password and unique customer ID selected by you. This password is encrypted. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. In addition, your Registration Information resides on a secure server that only selected CoreBlox personnel and contractors have access to via password. CoreBlox encrypts communication of your information and thereby strives to prevent unauthorized parties from viewing such information when it is transmitted to CoreBlox.
Personal information that you provide that does not constitute Registration Information also resides on a secure server and is accessible only to selected CoreBlox personnel and contractors via password. Since this information is not accessible by you, you will not be asked to select a password in order to view or modify such information.
Please note that any information you post to a public bulletin board or chat room, such as the CoreBlox User Forums (the “Forums”), is available to all persons accessing that location. Your e-mail address will not automatically be posted on the Forums unless you modify the default setting to permit that. Your e-mail address would then be available to all persons accessing the Forums. In addition, you should be aware that the Forums offer a service in which subscribers are e-mailed a copy of all messages posted to the Forums on a particular topic.
Data not collected on this Site
When you visit this Site we use “cookies” to manage your session and track your visit. A cookie is small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your identification card and enables CoreBlox to manage you Site session for the sole purpose of identifying you to the Site. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. Users choosing not to accept cookies will not be able to access pages in the Site requiring authentication.
CoreBlox also hires other companies to place our banner ads on other websites and to perform tracking and reporting activities (“third-party advertisement servers”). Aside from IP addresses, they do not collect personally identifiable information in doing this work for us, and we do not give any personally identifiable information to them.
